Government Functional Standard, GovS 008: Commercial, Version: 2.0, published by HM Government in September 2021, defines market structure as: ‘The interconnected characteristics of a market…. examples include the number and relative strength of buyers and sellers and degree of collusion among the market, level and forms of competition; extent of product or service differentiation; and ease of entry into and exit from the market.’
